**Weekday Academic Enrichment Program**

**What?** This program supplements and enriches school math classes for students interested in further academic development.
Our instructors and materials help students learn more in-depth and advanced math material, furthering their mathematical knowledge. By the end of the program,
students are ready for more rigorous school math classes.

**Location?** Suite 208, 4670 McDermott Road, Plano, TX 75024

**When?** The Weekday Enrichment Program runs from September 2017 to May 2018. This program has two sessions - Fall Session and Spring Session
( click to check calendar for each session).

**Who?** Programs are intended to students from the 4th to 11th grades.

**Why?** IDEA MATH provides in-depth enrichment in important mathematical areas, particularly in the fields from which contest problems are drawn:
algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory. IDEA MATH programs intend to help able and interested students develop systematic methods for problem-solving and build a solid
foundation for their future studies. We believe students learn best by discovering, rather than simply memorizing, essential theorems and techniques. Our program puts students at
the center of the classes, as students improve their problem-solving skills individually as well as in group settings. Our instructors lead this process by giving meaningful examples,
guiding students through the problem-solving process, and assisting students to summarize critical points.

**How?** We apply seminar-style teaching in our classes. Class sizes are small (usually around 15, and rarely more than 18) to ensure that students
receive plenty of individual attention. Students are expected to work as a group and present their solutions and ideas to the class.

In order to meet the needs of the students with different mathematical backgrounds, this program provides an extensive curriculum. IDEA Education Weekday Academic Program at Dallas area offers the following courses:

This program has two sessions - Fall Session and Spring Session ( click to check calendar for each session). Note that we have regular classes scheduled on all the weekday nights on this calendar (including 9/4 labor day and 10/9 Fall break day).

Materials covered in the Spring Session are a continuation of the materials covered in the Fall Session. Each course meets 15 times in each session, and each meeting is two hours long. Each course is designed for a total of 15 * 2 + 15 * 2 = 60 class hours. See academic calendars for Fall Session and Spring Session.

**Placement**

Important notes for course availability/selection and placement:

The above lists consist of projected courses we offer in this program. Two of the major strengths of our program -- a strong academic team and a full range of materials -- allow us to provide proper new courses/groups to meet the needs of the student body. Please note: the schedule is subject to change based on actual enrollment and staff availability.

The IDEA MATH academic team will review enrolled students' background and work with them on placement and/or projected placement levels. The purpose of the placement test is to group students with similar backgrounds together, and our teachers will find proper materials to work with each group/section.

If you are not certain about the exact course you should take, make sure that the detailed academic background information is updated in your account and register for a course that is relatively fit your background and needs. After you are enrolled (admitted and tuition paid in full), our academic team will work with you to find the best fitting course for you to study at our program.

Before registration, please create an account if you are new to our program. Log in to your account and register for this program. It is important for each new applicant to answer all questions accurately and provide detailed information. In particular, age, high school graduation year, detailed math background -- courses taken, official contests taken and official scores (rather than ranks)

Incoming students: joining the program in the beginning of session 2

A student seeking to join IDEA Education in the middle of an academic year program without having been enrolled the previous session should create an account (returning student should use his original account), submit up to date information about his/her mathematical background, and then contact the IDEA Math staff at info@ideamath.org. Applicant is required to take a placement test (the test fee is $50 or more).

**Contact IDEA MATH**

As always, we welcome parents' specific academic questions about our curriculum and teaching styles, as well as students' class-work and preparation. Please contact info@ideamath.org.
